Favorite things – March edition

Time for another month of my favorite things!

Wow I know that February is the shortest month of the year – but WHERE’D IT GO!?!?!!?  It’s the first Monday of the month and it’s time to share my top 5 favorite things! It is still brutally cold here in Michigan so one of my top items is still being used frequently! 🙂

Let’s get started!

#1:  Ikea Fintorp storage caddy

I’ve seen this storage caddy used in SO many ways!  I personally use it in 2 different places in our home – one in our office and another at our coffee bar.  You could use it in a craft room, bathroom, kitchen or wherever you need extra storage. It’s not expensive and extremely useful! You can find the bar HERE, the hooks HERE, and the containers HERE. Let me know of how you would use these in the comments below.

#2:  Seeking God’s Face Devotional

This is hands down one of my favorite devotionals that I have used year after year.  I like it because it always opens with a scripture verse, then a Psalm passage, and then another Bible passage (usually a New Testament one)  It offers suggestions on what to pray for and then ends in a prayer and blessing. They’re short enough to start my day – but can be used for a longer devotional time if you prefer that.  It’s very versatile and I love starting my day out in His word.  You can pick up a copy at Amazon HERE.

#3:  Electric fireplace

This is the item that we’re unfortunately having to still use because it’s so cold in Michigan yet.  We have it in our bedroom and since it’s electric – you just need to plug it in! 🙂  Our bedroom is always cold for some reason – especially at night. There is a timer on it so we set it…jump into bed…..and warm up!  We have said so many times how this was the best addition to our bedroom. We also use it as our tv stand so it’s multifunctional and multi seasonal! 🙂  Not to mention it adds the perfect touch of romance into our room! 🙂  We got ours from Lowes

#4:   Magic Bullet blender

I have started making protein shakes every day for breakfast and lunch.  This blender is INVALUABLE for making my smoothies! I love the size of it – I keep it sitting on my counter in my kitchen for ease of use.  It makes the perfect smoothies! I’ve also used it as a small blender to blend things for recipes (like puree-ing cannellini beans for white chicken chili).  This would also work great for new moms who want to make their own baby food. I picked mine up at Bed Bath & Beyond. It comes in several different sizes and loads of different attachments.  They even have a Nutri Bullet Vegetable Spiralizer!

#5:  The Afters song “Well Done”

So this is a little different favorite item, but I wanted to include it because I LOVE this song so much!  In fact, whenever it comes on the radio, our special needs daughter, Lydia, always squeals and yells “it’s your song mom!!” and proceeds to crank the radio up to the highest volume.  Nothing is more sweet than watching her do that and then stand next to the counter with her arm raised in the air as she sings this song.  Melt. My. Heart. Here is the song….take a listen to it and be blessed! 🙂  I also included a printable with the lyrics.  Feel free to download and print it out for your use.
